about us

Every day we encounter narratives about who we ought to be.

These narratives come at us through the books we read, the movies we watch, the popular culture we experience, and stories shared 'round the Thanksgiving dinner table. What we do with those narratives - how we interpret, edit, and/or internalize them - is what makes our choices about how we live, what we create and the relationships we cultivate, all the more interesting. These narratives impact how we make sense of ourselves and our place in space and time. Taken together, they constitute a kind of narrative inheritance.

To live is to craft your personal narrative.

Though a number of avenues, including a quarterly magazine, Loosechange Press seeks to be a platform devoted to exploring these narrative inheritances and what we choose to make of them as we live (write) our own personal narratives.

Our name, our narrative

Loosechange Press is an homage to my paternal grandparents. Avid collectors of unique antiques, they filled their basement with slot machines, model trains, juke boxes, a carousel panel, and miscellaneous knick-knacks. It was a home that inspired wonder.

Each piece, like each person, is imbued with multiple narratives.

Loosechange Press celebrates these narratives: who we are, where we've come from, and where we're going.
